Monday's USA Today reported that their quarterly survey of 46 leading economists found that the recovery is stronger than it was first thought to be and that there is little danger of the country slipping backwards. Seven in ten economists report that they are more optimistic than they were 3 months ago. the reason for the recovery, retail sales are up. retail sales are climbing at an annualized rate of 10.1%. Even the unemployment rate is dropping, though very slowly.
This means that know is the time for businesses to ramp up their up their advertising. Businesses which hold back will miss the "Recovery Train." Share the good news with your clients and prospects, and help them participate in the recovery with an aggressive program.

Spread the Good News
Bad news always travels faster than good news, so we need to help it along. The Commerce Department just announced that consumer sales rose again in February. This means that the retail economy has increased steadily for the last 5 months. Auto sales are also on the rise. We need to read the business pages and websites to familiarize ourselves with the positive statistics. I make a point of sharing this information with every advertiser and prospect. Some people are still a bit shell-shocked from the recent recession and this stops them from advertising and taking part in the recovery. We all need to convey the message that things are looking up and that if they don't go after the business they competitors will.

Some good economic news (FINALLY!)
After two of the worst years in its history, economists are predicting the auto industry will begin to rebound in 2010. They are predicting that consumers will act on the pent up demand for new cars. They are forecasting that Americans will buy 12 million cars and light trucks in the coming year, up about 20%. They believe these sales will be driven by the need to replace aging vehicles and the stability of the credit market which will lead to a resurgence of vehicle leasing.
Now is the time to start calling on auto dealers again. The dealerships that benefit from increasing auto sales will be the dealerships that reach out to consumers with an aggressive advertising program.
